
Do I need to be at a certain level of Spanish before I start?
No, whether you are a complete beginner or at an advanced level our tutors will
customize classes according to your level.
How many lessons do I need?
This depends on how proficient you would like to become in the language.
In general, for there to be a significant change in your language
ability, we would recommend a minimum of 30 lessons.
How do you monitor’s
the teachers performance?
Our system automatically records the lesson and we often review this
of each teacher looking at their technique. Each month we send
out feedback forms to our students and they provide feedback on
how they can improve. We take this very seriously and immediately
address this with our tutors.
How long are the lessons?
Our lesson time is an academic hour (50 minutes).
Can I study a particular area, such as banking or law?
Currently we offer General Spanish and a Survival
Spanish course. In the summer we are adding Banking & Financial
Spanish and Medical Spanish. Yes, our teachers are very experienced
in specific subject areas.
Do you use textbooks?
Our advanced virtual classroom uses e-lessons. Mi Maestro has an
extensive database of electronic lessons that are used in the virtual
classroom with the student. Our tutors are able to choose from
this database the specific lessons that correspond with the needs
of the student.

Do I need broadband access?
It is possible to use a dial-up connection,
but we recommend a broadband connection. This includes ISDN, DSL
and Cable. These reasons
include the fact that video communication works very well when
both parties have broadband and our virtual classroom works best
with broadband.
What equipment and software do I need?
You need a PC with a minimum 800 MHz processor and a 128MB of RAM
and a headset. Webcams for students are optional. Mi Maestro will
show you how to set up your equipment if you need guidance. We
can also recommend suitable headsets and webcams.
Do I need a headset and webcam?
We recommend using headsets for better sound
quality, and to keep your hands free to type and interact with our
tutors. A webcam is not required. If you have a webcam your tutor will be
able to see you during the lesson and this can be helpful. However,
regardless of whether you use a webcam or not, as all our teachers
have webcams you will be able to see your teacher on screen.
Can I cancel and reschedule my classes?
You can reschedule a class as long as you
give the tutor 24 hours notice. If you don’t provide
notice in sufficient time, the lesson will be considered to have
been used.
What happens if
the teacher is late or doesn’t show up?
Students will be provided an additional lesson time to make up that
lost lesson at no extra charge.
How do I pay?
We accept payment by credit card, check card or Paypal. Our online
scheduling system payments are processed through Paypal, the internet
standard for excepting payments online.
